The Ichabods made
the long journey to face off with Nebraska Kearney for a Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday series. Overall, we walked away 1-4 which was highly unexpected
against this team. As told by the coaching staff, the main goal was to walk away
with the wins to kick Nebraska Kearney out of the MIAA tournament completely,
yet we did not succeed in doing so. As I said in my last post, not enough
energy or focus was there. But there is something else I have learned through
the players and coaches over this season as well as last season that is a great
necessity to winning. A key to success is a positive attitude. As cheesy as it
may sound if you tend to be negative, others will sense it which will lead the
team in a bad direction. Positive leadership is so important at every game. If
your captains fail to do their job, the team has no direction. We have had
several cases of that this season. Overall, our captains have done a good job
from what I can see, yet the cases that leadership has not been there, it could
never be any more evident than when we are losing a game.
We are now in 8th place
in the MIAA conference and continue to get better every day. When push comes to
shove I think this team will show the rest of the conference what they are
really made of. All I can say now is, go Bods!!!
